The aim of Martin House is to provide family led care for children with life shortening conditions. It is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help.

Joanna which is a Leeds based charity which works to better the lives of vulnerable women involved in drugs and prostitution (many have suffered abuse as children and have been trapped in a cycle of abuse and poverty ever since).

 

Joanna supports these women and tries to help them to climb out of poverty and dependency on drugs, whilst providing them with skills that will enable them to find jobs that do not leave them vulnerable to physical and emotional abuse. Without this support many of these women would be on the streets or worse.

Maggie's Yorkshire will be built in the grounds of St James’s University Hospital in Leeds to complement it's excellent clinical care and to offer the practical, emotional and social support people with cancer and their families and friends need.
